As runners we all get the "why do you run?" question from time to time.  It is a hard thing to answer because there are numerous ways to reply.  The same applies when we sign up for a race or decide to take on an adventure. There is no single thing, but lots of things.  Those things may evolve or change as training hours are put in and the planning cycle ramps up.  What at first seemed the most important may just not be a line item in a long list of equally important items. 

"What made you choose this event?"  is the question we attempt to answer today, each in our own way with our own motivations.
